Basic Premise:
Johnny Blaze is back. He's still struggling to contain the dark rider within. But a time is coming when he'll have to let the rider free in order to thwart the devil and save a child from a fate worse than death.




Review:
If you saw and enjoyed the first movie or if you saw and hated the first movie, don't go see this one. If you liked the first movie, then you won't like this one. If you hated the first movie, then there's no reason to see this one. Ugh was the general consensus for the hubby and me.

It had some funny moments, but out five stars (and I never give ratings) I would give this two... maybe even one and a half. Nick Cage overacted the hell out of his part. It's like he forgot everything about the first movie (and acting in general) when he did this movie. This is the type of acting you would expect from an amateur indie pubbed movie.

Fergus Riordan and Violante Placido did their parts well. They made the movie enjoyable. But, if I was the type to walk out of movies (I never leave a movie that I've paid for), I would have left this one. And this Rider compared to the one in the first movie was weak. He did some cool tricks taking over different machines, but that was the only cool thing about him.

The overall feel of this movie was silly. Not campy. Fantastic Four was campy. This was straight up SILLY. It probably earned the PG-13 rating (and not PG outright) because of the people being killed. That's it. This is not the type of movie I expect from Marvel Knights, which is supposed to be darker, grittier, and R-rated (like Punisher: War Zone).

If they decide to make another Ghost Rider movie, I may have to wait for it to come to DVD and get it from Redbox for $1 rather than wasting box office money on it.
