Movie Review: Happy Feet Two
Happy Feet Two
Basic Premise
Mumble's son Erik is finding it hard to fit in. He doesn't understand the reason to sing and dance until a tragedy strikes and shows him the power of song.
Short - I Tat I Thaw a Puddy Tat
I forgot how annoying I found this song. And it was a little disconcerting seeing the Looney Tunes in CGI. As well, I want that vacuum.
Review
They're bring fluffy back. Yea!
This was tooooooooo cute. If you liked the first movie, then you will like this one too. It meets the standards of the first without being a complete copy. It kept a theater full of kids quiet (for the most part), so you know it's good. And I assure you, this time, the humans aren't at fault... unless you count global warming.
Sidenote - The first half of the teaser trailer is an actual part of the movie. Complete and uncut.
I loved seeing Gloria and Mumble as parents. Little Erik is also very cute, though his blue eyes means he might turn out like his father and not lose his fluff. We'll find out if they ever make a third Happy Feet.
Not much I can say about this movie that won't give away the toy surprise. Suffice to say, you get to see the majority of the old gang.
Previews
- Journey 2 - I didn't see Journey 1, but this one looks hilarious. I may have to actually watch the first one so I can see this one in theaters.
- Joyful Noise - Step Up/Save the Last Dance meets Sister Act. Eh. Doesn't matter. I'm still going to see it for three reasons: (1) Queen Latifah, (2) Dolly Parton, and (3) interracial relationship. Yup. I'm just that simple.
- The Lorax - The hubby is seeing this one on his own.
- Secret World of Arrietty - This is Studio Ghibli. You know I'm there. Plus, being in Hawaii with such a large Asian community, there has to be (almost guaranteed) a theater near me (it's an island, what isn't near me?) that will be showing this.
