I love to watch any scary movie like the originals of Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. I used to watch The Shining, but lately it has really scared, especially if I was alone :)

Huge fan of horror. In fact, sad but true, I am the only one in my immediate family that loves and enjoys watching horror movies/shows.. Right now the ones I love are the Halloween series, True Blood and the American Horror Story.

I am not a fan of horror TV or movies. The only Halloween movies I can watch are Poltergeist & The Shining.

Eva - Those are all good choices. I don't think I've watched The Shining all the way through. Maybe I should.
Trinity - H20 was my favorite Halloween just because it joined old and new. I love pretty much every Dracula movie -- Bram Stoker's Dracula, Dracula 2000, Prince of Darkness, Blade Trinity... etc.
Anya - I love horror movies too. The hubby and I are planning a horror movie watching night this Halloween. For us, it's more the comedic value. We both have inappropriate senses of humor and like to laugh at the stupid people dying. :P
Lisa - I haven't seen Poltergiest in forever. I need to watch it again. Sorry you're not a fan of horror. Not everyone is. But at least you have given it a chance.

My favorite scary Halloween movie is Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis. It still scares me, but I still pull out the DVD and watch it every Halloween. LOL

I've watched a lot of horror movies, but the only scary one I ever cared to watch again was House, released in 1986 with William Katt of Greatest American Hero fame. I always felt that the comedic elements kept it from being nightmare material.

I don't really like the traditional scary movies. They give me nightmares and I have to sleep under the bed for years.
I watched The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Some day Linus just has to get his wish.

Marianne - "Ghost" did have some scary elements. Those soul eater things freaked me out and made me happy I wasn't dead. :P

Kathryn - I have seen the cover for this movie hundreds of times but never actually watched it. I should give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.
Julianne - The Great Pumpkin is a Halloween classic. Have you seen "The Halloween Tree?" It's an animated movie where kids learn about the history and meaning of Halloween while trying to save their friend's life. Very good and highly recommend it.

The Shining all the way!! Will always be my favorite scary movie, a lot of the movies they have come out with lately are just sick and twisted in my opinion, and not really scary.

Mnjcarter - I couldn't agree more. Horror movies now are all about the gross out rather than the scary. It's why I've switched to Asian horror when I want a good scare. Now that is sick and twisted in a psychological way. They go for gore too but it's still high on the scary. Plus Asian horror doesn't have the same rules as US horror. No one is safe, not even the main character.

Soneni - The original is good. I enjoyed the remake. I enjoyed even more seeing Robert Englund in person. Very interesting guy.
Gloria - I love Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a multi-seasonal/holiday movie. You can watch it starting in October and keep on watching it straight through December. Very good thinking on Tim Burton's part.

Fingers - I've never watched that show, but that's appropriate for the season.
Fedora - The horror genre isn't for everyone. But Charlie Brown is always welcome for every holiday.
