Movie Review: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Basic Premise
Dr. Will Rodman wants to help his ailing father by curing his Alzheimer's. When the primate tests get scrubbed due to an accident, Will is let with a single chimpanzee baby and his persistent need to see his father healthy again. But his fervor and disregard for protocol leads to an even bigger issue.
End of Credits
There is a little bit of stuff partially into the credits. It's important for the sequel.
Review
I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I didn't love it, but I did like it. Much MUCH better than the Mark Walhberg Planet of the Apes movie from 2001. This movie is an origin of how the apes came to be the next ruling species on Earth. It's just what the title says -- RISE of the Planet of the Apes.
There were several really funny parts in this movie. I look forward to the next installment and hope they don't ruin it.
Previews
- Killer Elite - I already said it once, but I'm definitely seeing this.
- Conan the Barbarian - I'll be seeing this very soon.
- Contagion - Again, pass.
- Dream House - They gave away the toy surprise in the preview (at least that's the way it looks). Knowing that, why should I go see this movie?
- The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - Ah, the Americanized version of the movie is coming soon. I'll still pass.
- In Time - I'm going to wait for the DVD.
- The Sitter - Adventures in Babysitting and Don't Tell Mom the Babytitter's Dead amalgamated into one movie with a guy as the lead. Pass.
