Writing Update: 14 April

EEEEEEEEK!!!!

I've gotten my edits for Eris. Eek! Eek! I always get nervous whenever I get edits. It's a different type of nervous from release day since my editor is the first person that will have things to say (good, bad, and ugly).

I looked over the checklist and it doesn't seem too horrible. I'm going to look over the actual document after I fortify myself with some food. I know I can't start my edits right now (which completely sucks) since I'm still doing preparations for RT con as well as I have to work tonight (did I ever mention that I HATE my day job?).

My next day off is Friday and I'll want to work on it then but I really need to get my faery ball costume finished and get packed. Ugh, only one week left before the madness crashes over me and sweeps me away. Have to remember to pack a flotation device.

On another note, I have written a little bit. Not as much as I want and not on what I wanted but, at this point, writing is writing. I'll take what I can get. :D

Writing Update: 5 Apr 2010

Okay... so it looks like I won't be getting much in the way of substantial writing done for the month of April. I have waaaaaay too much stuff going on and I need to get ready for RT Con as well.

I kind of figured (back in January) that April would be a bust for writing but I didn't realize how much of a bust until just now. My schedule at work is all over the place and what little free time I have is being split between all the mundane stuff going on in the real world.

Ugh. I have stories that want to be written and could be finished fairly quickly but no time to actually write them properly. Pisses me off really. If I was blocked then I would have an excuse but just plain old not having time really irks me.

Movie Review: Clash of the Titans

Basic Premise
The gods have lost favor with man and man has determined to overthrow them. Hades will not let that happen. He will punish them all in the name of Zeus, except he has a hidden agenda. His agenda puts him at odds with Perseus who will see him destroyed.

First Chapters Needed

Just to prove that I can't sit idle for too long, I've given myself another project (I'm the same way when I don't write for too long. It's a curse... sort of. :P)

I've started another blog where I'm going to showcase romance first chapters, starting with mine, of course. So long as it is a romance it'll be posted to that blog.

A first chapter can make or break a book and be the deciding factor of whether or not a reader will buy your book. I'm putting that to the test and hoping that this idea catches on and gets lots of followers.

Random Previews: Apr 2010

Okay, I totally missed March because that was a hectic month for me. April won't be much better since I have to get ready for the Romantic Times Convention but at least there is a short calm for the moment. :D

I will break my "theaters are only for special effects" rule for this movie. I love Queen Latifah's movies and this one looks great. I'm looking forward to May now.

Okay, this looks hilarious. It also looks like a great special effects movie. I love the video game aspect of it.

Already out but these previews are interesting. I love Michael Caine. He is such an interesting actor. I probably won't see this in theaters but I will definitely rent the DVD when it comes out.

This is a guilty pleasure. I won't read the books but I'll go (and probably enjoy) to the movies. It looks like they changed the actress for Victoria. No clue why and don't care. And it also looks like Jacob still doesn't know how to wear a shirt. Still more angst but a good distraction in between blockbusters.

Chick flick to the extreme but I am soooooo going to see it. Besides, it has some special effects so it doesn't totally break my theater rules. I finally happy to see something more than a teaser (even if it was a featurette) for this movie. Typical Beauty and the Beast storyline and hey, it has Mary-Kate Olsen in it. Looking forward to it.

He wants to change his image by killing a dragon but befriends it instead and finds out that the dragons aren't what he and his people have always believed them to be. It'll take a little team work and a lot of trust to make the others see that as well.
