Movie Review: My Soul To Take

My Soul to Take

Basic Premise:
On the day a schizophrenic serial killer died, seven babies were born. Each baby holds one of the killer's personalities. 16 years later, one of the personalities is out to eliminate the other six.

Review:
This movie was better than I thought it would be. The hubby and I went to see it so we could take advantage of an AMC theaters promotion. It seemed like the lesser of many evils and turned out to be better than we would have hoped.

I cannot speak to how scary it was since most horror films don't scare me. But it kept me guessing until the big reveal who the killer really was. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the movie proved me wrong. It was a fun ride.

I think this film is indicative of what Wes Craven is capable of when the producers let him do what he does best.

A nice little distraction that I look forward to getting on DVD.

Previews:
- Paranormal Activity 2 - Didn't see the first one. Not at all interested in this one.

- Love & Other Drugs - This looks funny but not like something I would want to see in theaters. I definitely want to see it since I both Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.

- Back to the Future Marathon - I remember going to see all of the movies in the movie theaters when they first came out and being pissed that it said "To Be Continued." I wanted to throttle the director. As much as I would like to see this on the big screen yet again, there are way too many movies coming out for my budget to handle it.

- Due Date - This was a new preview. I'm pretty sure they showed all of the funny parts. The funniest part being when they kept hitting the potholes.

- The Warrior's Way - I love this preview. I'm going to enjoy this movie.

- Skyline - Much longer preview showing more about the plot. Looks interesting. Looks very much like a human nature film. I want to see it.

- Saw 3D - No No No No No. That preview freaked me out, which is hard to do. I haven't seen the last two so I'm not going to see this one. Maybe some other time.

- Priest - I'm looking forward to this movie. I want to see Karl Urban being naughty. Teehee.
